Carassauga Festival Inc.
Carassauga Festival Inc. was founded in 1985 to organize a city-wide multicultural festival to promote understanding, respect and cooperation among all Canadians of different heritage in the City of Mississauga. The Festival is made of different pavilions representing countries or regions of the world. Pavilions are operated by Mississauga-based non-profit organizations and depict the culture of their country/region of origin through food, music, art, dance, fashion shows, historical displays, games and vendors.

Carassauga Multicultural Festival-25th Anniversary
In order to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, the Festival will introduce a number of new initiatives and enhancements to the event this year. The main enhancement is the establishment of a centralized location at the Hershey Centre where 18 of the 32 pavilions will be grouped. The overall number of pavilions will increase from 21 representing 40 countries in 2009 to 32 representing 64 countries in 2010. Other new initiatives include (i) a main stage to provide nonstop entertainment during the event with a few well known cultural entertainers as well as performers; (ii) Opening Ceremonies to launch the Festival and celebrate all the countries and reflect the cultural diversity of Mississauga; (iii) a Kid Zone; and (iv) an artisan market.
