Project Name: Afro-CariBrant Festival
Project Description:

This application is for the “2026 Afro-CariBrant Festival”, a multicultural festival taking place September 5 and 6, 2026, at Paris Lions Park in the County of Brant. Building on the Festival’s recent recognition as the 2025 Good Times in Brant Award recipient for Tourism and its finalist status in the Hamilton Halton Brant Tourism Recognition Awards, the 2026 expansion introduces enhanced programming, curated vendor experiences, and a targeted tourism marketing campaign while maintaining free public access. Programming includes: (1) Main stage: two days of scheduled Afro-Caribbean music, dance, drumming, and cultural storytelling presented in structured showcase blocks featuring regional performers and cultural presenters; (2) Culinary village: an expanded corridor of Afro-Caribbean food vendors complemented by culinary demonstrations and cultural food storytelling experiences; (3) Artisan row: a curated marketplace of cultural crafts, textiles, books, artwork, and heritage products selected through a quality-based vendor process aligned with the festival’s cultural brand; and (4) Family and youth cultural zone: interactive activities and cultural learning experiences designed to engage families and youth through creative workshops and accessible programming.
