The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), a self-financed agency of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, was established in 1885 to control the lands and buildings immediately surrounding the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. NPC sites, which span a 56km stretch of the Niagara Parkway, welcome over 13 million visitors annually. The NPC owns and operates several attractions, including Journey Behind the Falls, Niagara Parks Power Station + The Tunnel, Power Station + Tunnel At Night, Butterfly Conservatory, Whirlpool Aero Car, White Water Walk, Whirlpool Adventure Course, Zipline to the Falls, and their newest attraction, the fully immersive flying theatre ride “Niagara Takes Flight.

Project Description:

This application is for "Niagara Parks FIFA Fan Zone by the Falls,” taking place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in Queen Victoria Place, Niagara Falls. Leveraging their international reach and the unparalleled visual impact of Niagara Falls, Niagara Parks is planning a series of FIFA World Cup events that will bring visitors, residents, media, and cultural partners together to celebrate the world’s most watched sporting event. Programming includes: (1) Live game broadcasts on two large outdoor screens and multiple indoor screens; (2) Multi-day cultural and entertainment programming throughout the tournament featuring Canadian, Ontario, and local performers, as well as select international programming aligned to participating countries; (3) Family-friendly play areas including soccer simulators, inflatable and standard soccer games, foosball and table soccer, an interactive community mural, and themed selfie and photo stations; and (4) Media Passport Program which incentivizes international and domestic media to visit Niagara while in Canada.
