Event Details

Incorporated in 2018, the Collingwood Summer Music Festival (CSMF) is an annual, family-friendly, classical music festival bringing high-calibre, live music performances to the Collingwood region. During CSMF’s inaugural year in 2019, the Festival attracted between 80 to 400 audience members per concert, averaging 110 attendees per concert and 900 patrons overall, during the course of the Festival’s eight ticketed performance events.

This application is for “Voices in Harmony”, running from July 6 to 18, 2026, with pre- and post-summer concerts extending engagement beyond the core season. The festival will take place across multiple venues in Collingwood, Creemore Village Green, and heritage spaces. The performances will be accompanied by extensive education, community engagement, and participatory programming. The festival represents a major stage of growth for CMF, featuring an expanded season with over fifteen concerts, workshops, and outdoor events, and approximately 250 performers. The 2026 theme, “The Power of the Human Voice,” unites traditions, cultures, and generations through choral and vocal music, bridging classical, world, and jazz genres while fostering regional participation and cultural tourism. Programming includes:

(1) Performances and masterclasses across the region: concerts, masterclasses, and outdoor events featuring Canadian and international artists, including Andy Milne, Tamar Ilana, Jodi Contin and others;

(2) Community participation workshops: a gospel workshop invites residents to rehearse and perform alongside professional choirs, culminating in a Festival finale that celebrates music, community, and shared creativity; and

(3) Outdoor and heritage venue programming: free and accessible performances in downtown Collingwood and Creemore Village.
