Incorporated in 2002, Elephant Thoughts is a registered charity founded to support positive change through education and opportunity both in Canada and abroad. Their work is built around the three key themes of global citizenship, environmental sustainability and quality education for all. Elephant Thoughts works with schools across Canada including more than 100 Indigenous schools in communities annually as well as supporting projects in developing countries through the Child Freedom Project. The organization partnered with The Happiness Mafia to co-present the inaugural Four Winds Music Fest in 2023.

This application is for the “2024 Four Winds Music Fest”, taking place July 12 to 14, 2024, at Riverstone Retreat on the banks of the Saugeen River in Durham. The property boasts diverse forests, hiking trails, agricultural lands and several indoor and outdoor facilities for events, overnight accommodations, retreats and educational experiences. The Four Winds Music Fest is a three-day annual cultural music event that provides a platform to underrepresented professional artists to showcase their musical talents. In addition to the musical performances, the Fest includes cultural activities through the three days celebrating foods and dancing from around the world. Programming will include:

(1) Extensive musical programming including headliner Sarah Harmer;

(2) Yoga workshops;

(3) Children’s programming;

(4) Garden tours and bee keeping workshops;

(5) Cooking classes; and

(6) African dance lessons
