Incorporated in 2014, the TD Niagara Jazz Festival fills a niche need in the Niagara musical performance market. While the organization’s focus is their signature summer Festival in July, they also produce a “Jazz for the Ages” youth program, a Jazz & Blues Series at The Hare Wine Co. and Mahtay Café & Lounge, and a Black History Month series of events in partnership with Niagara Parks Commission.

Project Name: The Niagara Jazz Festival's 10th Anniversary Season
Project Description:

This application is for their “10th Anniversary Season: Festival Flagship Events; World Music on the Beach; and the Hungry 4 Hammond Series” taking place July 15 to September 8, 2023. Programming elements include:

(1) The nine-day “10th Anniversary Season of the Niagara Jazz Festival” (July 15-22). The Festival will include “World Music on the Beach, a free and family friendly day-long event with vendors, and multiple stages with public access from the beach. Headlining artists are yet to be confirmed but venues include the Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate, The Brown Homestead (St. Catharines), The Bench Brewery (Lincoln), The Sanctuary (Fort Erie), Stratus Vineyards (Niagara-on-the-Lake), The Hare Wine Co. (Niagara-on-the- Lake), Henry of Pelham Estate Winery (St. Catharines), and Megalomaniac (Lincoln);

(2) “World Music on the Beach” at Club LaSalle (July 23): programming details yet to be finalized but the following artists are confirmed: Sonia Aimy, PK Hummingbird Steel Orchestra, Latin Jazz Orchestra, Fhanor Molina, Jay Douglas & The All-Star Band, and Wojtek Justyna’s Tree Oh!;

(3) “Hungry 4 Hammond”: Roger Niznik on August 10 and Donnybrook, Lou Pomanti Trio, and Kingsley Ettiene on August 24 (venues TBD); Larry Goldings on September 8 at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

Partnerships include the TD Bank Group (title sponsor); Ontario Trillium Fund, Ontario Creates, and the City of St. Catharines.
