Lights On Stratford
Lights On Stratford kicks off tonight! This magical winter festival of lights will transform Stratford’s downtown with luminous art and interactive light installations. The festival draws on a treasure trove of local talent, including some of the world’s best artists, lighting designers, props builders and creative minds! Visitors will be delighted by the illumination of local landmarks, such as City Hall and the new Tom Patterson Theatre. Take a walk through the Shakespearean Garden of a Thousand Lights, or take in the magically illuminated Tom Patterson Island. The lights are on until February 14, 2021.

A Supercrawl Livestream
Hamilton’s Supercrawl festival is livestreaming a free series of marquee performances this month! On November 21, catch an explosive show with Haviah Mighty, an MC whose in-your-face intensity and fast, technical flows have earned her opening slots for artists like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Redman and Method Man. Tune in early to catch opening act Nyssa, the producer and performer of sequin-encrusted beats, powerhouse vocals and picaresque persona. On November 28, up-and-coming pop group Ellevator delivers nimble melodies, electric hooks and cinematic timbres, with support by the gritty and lush King Park.

Coming Soon: Something Rich and Strange
Opera Atelier has wrapped up the filming of its extravagant new creation Something Rich and Strange at Koerner Hall – to be aired on Saturday, December 12th at 7PM! This fully-staged performance features theatre music that explores the realms of dreams, visions and the supernatural. As always, expect a dreamy cast of performers, including soprano Measha Brueggergosman, tenor Colin Ainsworth, artists of Atelier Ballet and musicians from Tafelmusik led by Music Director Elisa Citterio.

The #Lights-On initiative brought together leaders and experts in business, economics, public policy, public health and arts organizations to begin the important work of supporting the recovery of the live entertainment sector. Their Venue Reopening Guide is a collaborative effort of live entertainment organizations and individuals that reviewed existing published materials to build a resource that is relevant to venues in Toronto.

Coup d’envoi de Lights On Stratford ce soir! Grâce à sa magie, ce festival de lumières d’hiver transformera le centre-ville de Stratford au moyen d’œuvres d’art lumineuses et d’installations illuminées et interactives. Le festival puise dans son trésor de talents locaux, qui comprend certains des meilleurs artistes, concepteurs d’éclairage, accessoiristes et esprits créatifs du monde entier! Les visiteurs seront émerveillés par l’illumination de sites locaux comme l’hôtel de ville et le nouveau théâtre Tom Patterson. Promenez-vous dans le Jardin des mille lumières ou admirez l’île Tom Patterson qui s’allume comme par magie. Les lumières brilleront jusqu’au 14 février 2021.

Le festival Supercrawl de Hamilton webdiffuse en direct et sans frais une série de spectacles formidables ce mois-ci! Le 21 novembre, assistez à un spectacle explosif avec Haviah Mighty, rappeuse d’une grande intensité aux débits techniques rapides, qui a déjà fait les premières parties de spectacles d’artistes comme Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Redman et Method Man. Branchez-vous à l’avance pour voir la première partie de Nyssa, productrice et interprète d’un personnage picaresque aux rythmes incrustés de sequins et au chant puissant. Le 28 novembre, le prometteur groupe pop Ellevator propose des mélodies bien tournées, des éléments électriques accrocheurs et des timbres cinématographiques, avec le concours de King Park, un groupe truculent et décapant.

Guide de réouverture des salles #Lights-On
L’initiative #Lights-On a rassemblé des dirigeants et des experts du monde des affaires, de l’économie, de la politique publique, de la santé publique et des organismes artistiques pour entreprendre l’important chantier de reprise du secteur du spectacle vivant. Il en résulte un guide (en anglais) pour la réouverture des salles de spectacles, le Venue Reopening Guide, fruit d’une collaboration entre des organismes et des personnes du milieu du spectacle vivant qui ont examiné les publications existantes afin de créer une ressource utile pour les salles de Toronto.
