Talk Is Free Theatre is based in Barrie, Ontario. The company was founded in 2002 by Artistic Producer Arkady Spivak and since then has produced sixty productions. Our mission is to produce and to develop a wide range of ensemble-based programming, concentrating largely on new writing, rediscoveries of neglected work from the past and drastic re-examinations of classical repertoire.

This application is for the extension of "Bye Bye Birdie" to a four and a half week, or 37 performance run. Each production enjoys a regular subscription run of 13 performances over a one and a half week period, to which predominantly subscriptions and group tickets are sold locally. The proposed run of "Bye Bye Birdie" will be extended by three weeks (almost tripling the usual performance run) that will result in additional revenues for the theatre, based on extensive marketing of the project to national and United States motor coach companies, as well as more immediate communities.
