| Project Description: | This application is for the new and increased activities at the 2006 Canadian Comedy Awards & Festival. The programming provides five days of the best Canadian comics in stand-up, sketch, improv and variety shows. Lectures are provided at the regional universities and colleges with writers, producers and directors; celebrity hockey games, functions and film screenings are also part of the festivities. The new activities include: (a) the Canadian Comedy Gala Revue, a one evening showcase; (b) The Campus Tour with the Funniest Person on Campus contest and show; (c) a Campus and a Public Lecture; (d) Workshops on Survival of the Funniest and The Business of Comedy; (e) Free Community Shows in downtown London at lunch hour; (f) High school talks with young comics to the drama departments; and (g) The Second City education workshops with regional high schools. |
