Petrolia is a town in Ontario, Canada, near Sarnia. The town, an enclave within Enniskillen Township, is billed as "Canada's Victorian Oil Town" and is often credited with starting the oil industry in North America. Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCCVI) is the only high school located in Petrolia.

Project Name: VPP 2019 Summer Season Extension and Capacity Additions
Project Description:

This funding is for the marketing of the “VPP 2019 Summer Season Extension and Capacity Additions”, expanded programming taking place from April 30 to October 27, 2019 in Petrolia. The Playhouse will be extending two of their productions by a week and adding a new shoulder season production. Expanded programming will include:

(1) Extended Week of “Summer of ‘69”, June 4-30 (seven additional days). Conceived by David Rogers, with musical arrangements by Mark Payne, the musical theatre production will feature music by The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis and The Guess Who;

(2) Extended Week of “Hogan’s Hoedown”, September 3-29 (seven additional days). A musical comedy created by Everyone in the Barn, with musical arrangements by Mark Payne, and starring David Hogan;

(3) Addition of a Production into October: “Dracula: A Chamber Musical”, October 15-November 3 (seven days longer than their typical runs). Book and lyrics by Richard Ouzounian, music by Marek Norman, and starring David Rogers; and

(4) Ancillary programming: (i) Hogan's Hoedown's Barn Dance; (ii) Dracula's Haunted House in the park adjacent to the VPP; (iii) Vampire Escape Room; (iv) and a Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt. Petrolia's successful Super Saturday Shopping Program will also be expanded to six days from three.
