Event Details

Born in 2011, MonstrARTity Creative Community is a not-for-profit organization, based in Mississauga and committed to providing entertainment for the young and old alike. Ever expanding our productions, MonstrARTity is the producer of Bollywood Monster Mashup, which is the largest South Asian festival in Canada, as well as the team behind the award-winning Monster Rock Orchestra show.

This application is for the expansion of “Bollywood Monster Mashup 2017” (BMM), a multi-disciplinary free event taking place July 8-23, 2017 at Mississauga Celebration Square, Brampton Rose Theatre, and Revival in Toronto.

This year the festival will be enhancing their regular programming and adding several new features. 2017 programming will include:

(1) BMM Teaser Party (DJ night) at Revival in downtown Toronto on July 8th. This will be a paid event aimed at promoting the Mississauga and Brampton events to downtown residents;

(2) BMM Does Brampton. This ticketed event will feature a photography exhibit, spoken word showcase, urban music showcase, and a comedy showcase. This will be an all-day event, July 15th at the Brampton Rose Theatre;

(3) Celebrity meet & greet and media reception at the Mississauga Civic Centre on July 20th;

(4) BMM Concert. The main event will feature an international headliner, live musicians, dancers, vendors & food festival. 20 food vendors will be added to the marketplace this year as well as cooking demos by famous chefs. This free event will take place the evening of July 21st at Mississauga Celebration Square;

(5) BMM Family Day will feature a KidZone, Bollywood fitness, film festival, live music, dancers, vendors & food festival.This free event will take place during the daytime on July 22nd at Mississauga Celebration Square; and

(6) The BMM Finale, a free event on the evening of July 22nd.

The organization has provided a long list of potential performers and will submit a list of confirmed artists as soon as it is available.
