Carassauga Festival Inc. was founded in 1985 to organize a city-wide multicultural festival to promote understanding, respect and cooperation among all Canadians of different heritage in the City of Mississauga. The Festival is made of different pavilions representing countries or regions of the world. Pavilions are operated by Mississauga-based non-profit organizations and depict the culture of their country/region of origin through food, music, art, dance, fashion shows, historical displays, games and vendors.

This application is for “Carassauga Festival - Global Stage”, taking place May 28 to 30, 2021 in a yet to be determined outdoor venue in Mississauga, if permitted. The main stage programming will include both a virtual live stream and in-person component. Depending on the COVID-19 restrictions, the in-person component will be either reserved seating or drive-in. Programming will include:

(1) a tribute band (tbd, but KISS, Rush, Abba tribute bands proposed);

(2) headliner performance by a Coleman Hell;

(3) professional folklore and cultural performers; and

(4) a fireworks display.

Organizers are working towards the resumption of smaller live events in the event that they are allowed in 2021.
