Incorporated in 2016, the Canadian Multicultural Heritage Council (CMHC) is an arts organization that strives to preserve, promote, celebrate, and develop the cultural expression of multicultural communities as a part of Canadian Heritage. The CMHC oversees a portfolio of cultural initiatives that includes the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA), the Heritage Sounds Music Festival, concerts, talent funds, and sectoral support organizations that help foster Canadian talent. The organization launched two pilots at IFFSA in 2025: a film summit and cultural showcases, including musical performances.

Projet International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) Toronto 2026
Description du projet

This application is for the "International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) Toronto 2026", taking place October 8 to 18, 2026, in multiple venues throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, and surrounding communities. This is the 15th edition of the festival which is the largest South Asian film festival in North America. IFFSA Toronto 2026 is a multi-day film festival + summit that presents a dynamic program of screenings, premieres, conversations, and cultural events celebrating South Asian cinema and storytelling.
