Founded in 2011 and incorporated in 2016, the Nipissing Region Curatorial Collective (NRCC) is a bilingual artist-run organization based in North Bay, dedicated to creating, producing, and documenting cultural events in Northeastern Ontario. Operating the Northern Ontario Visual Arts Hive (NOVAH), the organization supports emerging and professional visual, media, and performing artists, pays artists according to CARFAC Ontario standards, and has produced cultural events in the region since 2021 under various names, rebranding as the Bay Beats Music Festival in 2025.

This application is for the "2026 Bay Beats Music and Performance Festival", a celebration of Indigenous and multicultural performing and visual arts taking place across two weekends from September 11 to 20, 2026 in North Bay. Programming includes: (1) BayBeats Teaser Jam (September 11): a ticketed indoor event at 151 Main Street East Theatre (Shadfly House) in downtown North Bay featuring four acts including Zack Lebel, aisaya, Not the Author, and Night Tripper, alongside visual art and fine craft workshops, running from 11am to 8pm; (2) BayBeats Main Festival (September 19 and 20): a full-day ticketed outdoor festival at Shabogesic Beach running from 11am to 10pm, featuring two stages. The Kiwanis Bandshell Main Stage will present eleven acts including LookouT, shore acres, Rose-Erin Stokes, 7 major, Hyperboreal, DJ Kuttin Korners, Casper Skulls, Witch Prophet, Medussah, Kasador, and Beaty and the Bandits. The Beach Stage will feature four acts including DJ Morbid, Brocofski, Lynn Blunt, and djsndfrq; and (3) Accompanying programming: an Artisans Way fine crafts market, Near North Makers Space and Whitewater Gallery activations, a Meet the Band session series, a painted green room art exhibition, cultural food vendors, a beer tent, and band merchandise.
