The Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) was established in 1941 by an act of the provincial government. RBG is recognized in Canada and throughout the world for its unique contribution to the collection, research, conservation, exhibition and interpretation of the plant world. It is one of the world's largest botanical gardens, including five gardens and four nature sanctuaries on over 2,700 acres of cultivated gardens and natural lands protected from the industrial and suburban encroachment of Canada’s most urbanized area.

Projet Summer Cultural Programming 2026
Description du projet

This application is for “RBG 2026 Summer Cultural Programming”, taking place from June 20 to September 25, 2026, at the Royal Botanical Gardens Centre in Burlington. The season positions RBG as a seasonal cultural anchor for Burlington and the broader region during peak tourism months. Programming includes: (1) RBG’s signature concert, Under the Harvest Moon featuring Patrick Watson: On September 25th, Canadian artist and composer Patrick Watson headlines Under the Harvest Moon, a concert marking the seasonal shift from summer to fall; (2) RBG’s Inaugural Signature Summer Exhibit: From June 20 to September 20, 2026, RBG will host the Canadian debut and first touring exhibition by internationally recognized contemporary sculptor Ken Kelleher (Anchorball). The exhibition will feature 17 larger-than-life sculptures integrated into RBG’s garden landscapes, creating a visually striking, immersive experience; and (3) RBG’s 2026 Concert Summer Series featuring a range of Canadian talent.
