Incorporated as a non-profit in 2021, the Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail (PRRT) is a bilingual, community-driven organization dedicated to transforming a piece of railway heritage into a thriving green space for residents and outdoor enthusiasts. Spanning 72 km from Hammond in the west to St-Eugène in the east across five municipalities, the trail offers a flat, accessible, family-friendly route through agricultural and wooded landscapes, dotted with charming villages and six pavilions. In December 2023, the PRRT joined the Trans Canada Trail, connecting it to the world's longest multi-use recreational trail network.

Projet Fall 2026 Trail Events
Description du projet

This application is for “Fall 2026 Trail Events” an enhanced series of fall events taking place September 12 to October 17, 2026, along and around the Prescott-Russell Recreational Trail. Programming includes: (1) Outdoor Bilingual Comedy Event (September 19): the PRRT's first large outdoor bilingual comedy event, taking place at a vineyard near Vankleek Hill and designed to appeal to both Montreal/Quebec and Ottawa/Gatineau audiences; (2) Two Cyclo-tourism Event (September 12 in Hammond and September 13 in Vankleek Hill): new cycling events near Hammond designed to appeal to Ottawa and Montreal, leveraging local producers and partners to offer an immersive cultural and culinary experiences beyond a standard ride; and (3) Bourget Community Markets (September 19 and October 17): enhanced community markets in Bourget featuring expanded programming and marketing geared towards suburban Ottawa audiences.
