Incorporated in 1973, the Downtown Kingston Business Improvement Area (DKBIA) is a non-profit organization that aims to cultivate and enhance downtown Kingston's position as the region's leading culinary, entertainment and commercial destination while attracting more people to experience and contribute to the vibrant downtown economy. The DKBIA programs festivals and events for the downtown Kingston area that include markets, music festivals, and guided tours.

Projet RoadTrip Music Festival

This application is for the “RoadTrip Music Festival” taking place on September 12, 2026, on Princess Street and at the Springer Market Square in Kingston. RoadTrip Music Festival is a new, multi-genre outdoor music and street activation event taking place in the heart of downtown Kingston. Launching Saturday, September 12, 2026, RoadTrip will debut as a one-day event in its inaugural year, with a planned expansion to a multi-day format in subsequent years. Programming includes: (1) Day-time programming on a one-kilometre stretch of Princess Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for a full day of public programming. Local businesses, restaurants, artisan vendors, and community groups will activate the space throughout the day, creating a pedestrian-focused environment for exploration and discovery. Three stages will host performances, line-up to include: Mariel Buckley (Juno Award winner), Absolute Treat, Tiny Horse, Piner, O Green; and (2) Evening Main Stage at Springer Market Square: four main stage performances in a fully licensed outdoor venue. Line-up to include: Gabriel Jacoby, Kasador, Katie Tupper, and headliner Peach Pit.
