Incorporated in 2009, the Centre canadien pour l'unité de famille (CCF) is a multi-service, non-profit organization that promotes family well-being in a healthy and barrier-free environment, empowering families and improving their quality of life. The CCF is recognized as a credible organization within Ontario's Francophone community. Over the past 10 years, the CCF’s services have been diversified to better serve at-risk youth, racialized youth, women, and other marginalized groups. The CCF has been programming culture events since 2020, including “Rhythms & Culture”, “AfroJazz FEST Milton”, and “AfroJazz FEST Hamilton”.

Projet AfroJazz Fest 2026
Description du projet

This application is for “AfroJazz FEST Hamilton 2026” a two-day outdoor cultural festival celebrating Afro-descendant arts and cultures, taking place on July 11 and 12, 2026 at Bayfront Park in Hamilton. The Festival offers professional and multidisciplinary artistic programming including concerts by Canadian and international Afro-jazz and Afrobeat artists, Afro-Caribbean and African dance performances, participatory cultural workshops, Afro-contemporary fashion shows and an Afro-inspired food and craft market. Programming includes: (1) Live music and dance programming: two days of outdoor concerts featuring Afro-jazz, Afrobeat, and world music artists from Canada, Ontario, and international markets, alongside Afro-Caribbean and African dance performances presented throughout the day on the main stage; (2) Participatory cultural experiences: hands-on workshops in percussion, African and Caribbean dance, and cultural fitness, encouraging active audience engagement and intergenerational participation; and (3) Fashion, food and cultural villages: Afro-contemporary fashion shows highlighting emerging and established designers, an Afro-Caribbean gastronomic and craft village with more than 40 exhibitors, and an African Village of Tales and Legends offering traditional storytelling and cultural transmission activities.
