Projet 2026 Bay Days
Description du projet

This application is for the “Barry’s Bay BIA Bay Days”, a three-day street festival taking place May 14 to 16, 2026, in Barry's Bay. Presented by the Barrys Bay BIA in partnership with the Township of Madawaska Valley, the initiative expands the traditional Bay Days street festival into a three-day community-wide event combining indoor cultural programming with a downtown street activation. Hosted at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre and throughout the downtown core, the project is designed to attract residents, seasonal visitors, and regional tourists. Programming includes: (1) Opening reception: a Thursday evening community gathering at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre featuring the Bay Days Ambassador competition and opening celebrations that officially launch the festival weekend; (2) Family film night: a Friday evening family-friendly movie presentation at the community centre, providing accessible entertainment and encouraging visitors to remain in the community throughout the weekend; (3) Downtown street festival: a Saturday downtown street closure transforming Main Street into a vibrant outdoor festival with 25 to 35 vendor booths, local artisan displays, food vendors, and sidewalk retail sales presented by local businesses; and (4) Live entertainment: continuous stage programming featuring live music and performances alongside family-friendly activities and interactive attractions.
