The Hispanic Canadian Arts and Cultural Association is a non-profit association geared towards supporting the development of local artists, including musicians, visual artists, performers and others interested in Hispanic music and culture. The HCACA is based in the Greater Toronto Area but is open to participation and connections to groups and individuals outside the Greater Toronto area with similar interests.

The HCACA provides an opportunity for musicians and other artists to perform and bring Hispanic music and culture to a mass audience in Canada, with a focus on local talent but not precluding participation from artists outside the Greater Toronto area.

The HCACA strives to promote understanding and participation among the different ethnic and cultural groups that make up the Hispanic community, and to collaborate with the diversity of peoples in Canada through the production and presentation of cultural and artistic events.

Projet 2026 Latin American Heritage Month Celebrations
Description du projet

This application is for "2026 Latin American Heritage Month Celebrations,” taking place from October 1 to 31, 2026 at multiple sites across the GTA. This multidisciplinary cultural celebration presents a curated series of visual art exhibitions, live music and dance performances, film screenings, professional development activities for artists, community-based culinary experiences, and large-scale public events. Programming includes: (1) Music, dance, and major performances (October 9 to 25): a series of performances taking place at multiple high-profile venues, including internationally acclaimed Cuban-Canadian pianist Hilario Durán at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga (October 20) and the Ontario Pops Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto (October 24); (2) Visual art exhibition (October 1–31): including an opening gala, artist talks, and guided tours at Pazan Gallery in Mississauga and SUR Gallery in Toronto; (3) Latin and Spanish film series (October 5–11): a curated program including feature films, documentaries, and short films from Latin America and Spain, presented at Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto Mississauga; (4) Professional Development & Grant Boot Camp (October 12–18): an intensive program designed to strengthen the capacity of Latin American and Hispanic artists and arts organizations in Ontario, taking place at Metro Hall in Toronto; and (5) Latin Gastronomic Fair (October 21–26): restaurant partners offer curated menus and host live music pop-ups, including a food culture panel and a closing fiesta party at Rosario’s Restaurant in Toronto.
