Projet Rendez-vous des Cultures Francophones
Description du projet

This application is for “2026 Seasonal Cultural Program”, taking place March 20 to September 28, 2026, both in Sault Ste. Marie and in the surrounding Algoma communities. Core programming is centred around three celebrations: the inaugural Rendez-Vous des Cultures Francophones (March 20 to 22), Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day celebration (June 27) and the Festival Franco-Ontarien (September 25 to 28). A new collaboration with the Sault Ste. Marie Local Immigration Partnership will allow the events to reach new markets across the region. Programming includes: (1) Rendez-Vous des Cultures Francophones (March 20 to 22): a new flagship, multi-day cultural gathering featuring culinary workshops, artist introductions, hands-on activities, an international music and dance showcase, and a traditional Cabane à Sucre experience, highlighting Francophone, African, Cajun, Métis, and local artistic traditions. These events take place at multiple venues across Sault Ste. Marie; (2) Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 27): an annual celebration presented in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Local Immigration Partnership will be taking place at a new location at the Downtown Plaza, featuring live music, family activities, and multicultural programming designed to reach new audiences; and (3) Festival Franco-Ontarien (September 25 to 28): held at Machineshop, it is a regional destination festival featuring the official Franco-Ontarian flag raising, community recognition awards, and headline performances aligned with peak Algoma tourism season.
