The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition exists to advance the knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts through the organization of an annual outdoor art fair and exhibition, and related programming. The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition is Canada’s largest and longest running outdoor art fair, showcasing the work of over 350 artists and 100,000 visitors annually.

This application is for “65th Toronto Outdoor Art Fair” taking place May 1 to August 31, 2026, at Nathan Phillips Square. TOAF’s 2026 programming builds on decades of fostering creativity, supporting artists, and connecting communities, offering a hybrid of in-person and digital experiences that highlight emerging talent, established voices, and national artistic diversity. Programming includes:

(1)Legacy Moved Forward — New Voices from TOAF: An off-site exhibition at Koffler Arts (June–July) featuring five past TOAF award recipients, curated by David Liss;

(2) │65 YEARS │65 GALLERIES │65 ARTISTS: A digital exhibition launching on TOAF.ca in April, showcasing 65 emerging artists from across Canada, curated by Flavio Belli;

(3) Senior Artists in Focus: A curated exhibition at Nathan Phillips Square during the Fair, spotlighting 12 senior artists in partnership with the Ontario Society of Artists;

(4) Art Nest: A public art incubator commissioning emerging and established artists to explore aging, longevity, and creative practice, featuring Ed Pien, Micah Lexier, Max Dean, and Peggy Baker;

(5) West Coast National Spotlight: A curated showcase at Nathan Phillips Square highlighting emerging artists from Western Canada; and

(6) Collector’s Collective: A year-long program engaging emerging collectors through educational sessions, studio visits, and social events to expand audiences and support TOAF artists.
