At the Aurora Cultural Centre, we believe that arts, culture, and heritage can play a role in changing our world and our community. This is the fabric that deepens our understanding of our shared experience, and creates a more compassionate society.

This application is for “The Aurora Winter Blues Festival”, a 4-day music festival taking place February 26, 2026 to March 1, 2026 with various performances, workshops, and educational elements. The goal of the project is to return a beloved festival to the Aurora Community as this festival has been on hiatus for a couple years. Now with the Aurora Cultural Centre being the producer of the festival, are reestablishing the Blues festival as a continuation and extension of our mission and vision to bring vitality to the heart of Aurora through arts and culture. The programming for “The Aurora Winter Blues Festival” includes:

(1) Blues performances featuring six artists over four days which will be taking place at the Aurora Town Squares Davide de Simone Performance Hall;

(2) Aurora Public Library will be programming book highlights of blues music/lectures/talks with writers in the month leading up to the festival; and

(3) Town of Aurora Museum will have an event/exhibit around Aurora’s history of blues music during the duration of the festival.
