The Centre In The Square Inc. (CITS Inc.) is a not-for-profit corporation, and registered charity, established in 1981 to maintain, operate and manage the 2,000 seat state-of-the art performing arts theatre situated in the Civic District of Downtown Kitchener. The theatre building, owned by the City of Kitchener, is also known as the Centre In The Square (CITS).

CITS Inc. works in the public interest as a presenter and arts enabler, playing a leading role in showcasing the best in local, national and international performers, with over 140 shows and concerts a year for the benefit of our entire region and beyond. Concerts, plays, lectures and comedy are but a few of the genres featured regularly throughout the year. Family programming is a priority, providing wonderful opportunities to introduce children to their first experiences with performing arts.

This application is for the “Centre In The Square’s Destination Festival”, taking place September 25, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The Festival will consist of two main programming components:

(1) “Broadway & Beyond Series”, including: (i) Menopause The Musical (September 26, 2025); (ii) Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary with Patricia Quinn (October 29, 2025); (iii) Tina: The Tina Turner Musical (November 28 & 29, 2025); (iv) The Phil Collins Story (dates TBC); (iv) Potted Potter (December 20, 2025); (v) Robert LePage and Guillaume Cote’s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (March 5, 2026); and (vi) STOMP! (April 17 & 18, 2026).

(2) “Spotlight Concert Series”, including: (i) Ghostbusters (Fall 2025); (ii) Disney’s The Muppets Christmas Carol In Concert (Fall 2025); (iii) Soweto Gospel Choir (November 15, 2025); (iv) Amanda Marshall (date TBD); (v) Dancing With The Stars (2 dates in Jan 2026 TBC); (vi) Jim Cuddy with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony (Confirmed, date TBA); and (vii) Pavlo & Daniel Emmet (May 8, 2026).
