The Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council established Six Nations Tourism (SNT) in 1995 to manages two historical sites and a park with cabin accommodations within the community. SNT also serves as the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) Nation, the most populated First Nation in Canada. Six Nations Tourism is dedicated to educating visitors, marketing and promoting small businesses, events, sites and attractions in order to vitalize economic growth throughout Six Nations of the Grand River.

Projet Six Nations Tourism Welcome Centre Launch
Description du projet

This application is for “Six Nations Tourism Welcome Centre Launch”, taking place at various sites in the Six Nations of the Grand River territory. Year one programming includes:

(1) “Two Nations Cultural Exchange”: a multi-day, immersive and transformative experience allows the sharing of two distinct and unique cultures: the Haudenosaunee and the Anishnaabek peoples, through Six Nations Tourism and Wikwemikong Tourism, respectively. It includes three days of land-based learning, history, cultural teachings, song and dance;

(2) “Two Row on the Grand Paddle”: this event exists in honour of the Two Row Wampum and incorporates the forming of two rows of paddlers based on annual registration, completing a prescribed route for paddling and camping, from source to mouth of the Grand River. This year (2025) is the 10th annual paddle, for which Six Nations Tourism is a direct planning partner; and

(3) “Six Nations Powwow Cultural Pavilion”
