Leonard Cohen: Everybody Knows
Description du projet
This application is for “Leonard Cohen: Everybody Knows”, the first museum exhibition to present the holdings of the Leonard Cohen Family Trust, taking place December 10, 2022, to April 10, 2023. Developed with the support of the Leonard Cohen Family Trust in Los Angeles and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, this exhibition is organized by the Art Gallery of Ontario, and curated by Julian Cox, Deputy Director & Chief Curator. The exhibition will include rare concert footage and archival materials, including musical instruments, notebooks, lyrics, letters, photographs, drawings, and digital art created by Cohen across several decades. The exhibition is anchored by two remarkable video installations (George Fok’s ‘Passing Through’ and Kara Blake’s ‘The Offerings’) and will also feature rare footage from Cohen’s 1972 world concert tour. Ancillary programming will include: a talk and reception for Curators’ Circle members; talks and panel discussions featuring the Curator of the exhibition; and programming for school groups, children, families, and youth.
