Projet
Doors Open 2016
Description du projet
To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of universal health insurance in Ontario the theme for Doors Open 2016 will be “Medical Science and Innovation”. Attendees will be able to learn about the history and impact of medical science by exploring medical sites and medical heritage throughout the province. Doors Open will take place in participating communities across the province from April 1 to October 31, 2016. In 2016 the Trust will continue to add new communities to the Doors Open roster as well as regaining communities that have not participated recently. Expansion targets include Essex County (the Lake Erie North Shore communities of Leamington, Kingsville, and Essex), St. Catharines, Eastern Ontario (ClarenceRockland), the Niagara region, and the CornwallSeaway Valley. In recent years there have been of greater number of regional events. While this may result in fewer total events, it will increase the total number of communities taking part in Doors Open. The deadline for communities to register will be December 18, 2015. 160 communities particpated in Doors Open 2015. Planning is underway to provide enhanced youth programming at Trustowned sites in Doors Open communities (such as Fulford Place in Brockville, DuffBaby House in Windsor, Fool’s Paradise and the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse in Toronto).
