Norm Foster Theatre Festival
Incorporated in 2015, The Norm Foster Festival is a theatre company inspired by the work of internationally renowned Canadian playwright Norm Foster. Their mission is to showcase the heart and humour of Foster's writing in a dedicated environment, employing the finest Canadian theatre practitioners and to foster and support emerging and established Canadian playwrights interested in stories that are entertaining but also deeply meaningful to and reflective of their history. The organization operates as a not-for-profit charitable organization, and will produce its second season of three fully professional productions from June to August, 2017 in Cairns Hall at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines.

Norm Foster Theatre Festival: New Initiatives for 2019
The Norm Foster Theatre Festival's “Increasing Audiences, Producing a World Premiere, and Addition of a Holiday Show”, is a series of productions taking place June 19 to December 22, 2019 in Cairns Hall at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, with potential tours to the Meaford Arts & Culture Centre and Theatre Collingwood. In 2019 the seating capacity in Cairns Hall will be increased from 200 seats per performance to 304. Programming will include: (1) “The Writer” - a world premiere playing from June 19 – July 5, 2019 (18 performances, with a proposed one week (six show) tour to the Meaford Arts & Culture Centre following our run in St. Catharines); (2) “Hilda’s Yard” - starring Patricia Vanstone and Norm Foster playing from July 10 – July 26, 2019 (18 performances); (3) “Beside Myself” - a world premiere musical playing from July 31 – August 17, 2019 (19 performances, with a proposed one week (six show) tour to Theatre Collingwood following our run in St. Catharines); and (4) “A Canadian Christmas Carol” (tentative title) - a two-week run from December 6 - 22, 2019 (16 performances). This show will be a world premiere holiday play by Norm Foster and has been conceived with the intention of creating an annual seasonal event to fill the gap in family-oriented holiday programming in St. Catharines.
