In order to minimize the demands placed on applicants' staff and volunteers, OCAF takes great care in communicating the Fund's purposes and in designing an efficient approval process.
There is a simple two-stage application process for OCAF investment:
• Stage 1 is a straightforward two-page form. The Stage 1 application indicates whether or not the project meets general eligibility criteria. Stage 1 applications are reviewed by staff to determine if the project is eligible for funding. Organizations with eligible events and who meet the budgetary benchmarks at Stage 1 will be asked to complete a more detailed Stage 2 application.
Stage 1 applications are accepted at any time. We recommend that clients submit a Stage 1 application at least 6 months in advance of the proposed date of their event.
• Stage 2: The OCAF Board of Directors makes funding decisions with the advice and assistance of OCAF staff.
To date, a large proportion of organizations invited to submit a Stage 2 application are approved for funding. These clients generally receive a large portion of the amount that they request. OCAF has received very high quality applications and has been committed to fully fund projects that have a good prospect of success.
Upcoming Stage 2 deadlines are listed in the "Deadlines" section.
The OCAF Program Guide provides all relevant criteria about the application process.
